Incredible scoring in this weeks fixtures.


Sixty two Competitors took part in this weeks Tuesday open and one stood out from the pack scoring 50 points. Yes that's right 50 points. Sean O'Neill tore the field apart with what must have been the round of his life to beat Eugene Hillick by 8 points who was back in second with a score that would win most competitions on any course.


Colin Barlow showed how steady a player he is taking the gross with a 5 over round of 75 while Neil Hirrell posted 39 points to take third in the main prizes.


A very commendable 38 points was enough for Aidan Bennett to walk away with the visitors prize, with Niall Boyle scoring 22 points to get the back 9 prize.

Noreen wins “Men’s Cup”

The competition held on Wednesday 22nd July was the Men’s Cup and again there was a great turnout for the competition in mild weather conditions.

The winner was Lady Vice Captain Noreen Moore with a score of 71nett.

Second place was Sheila Reid with 72 and third place went to Geraldine Hillick with 73nett.

The beginners prize was won by Donna Tedstone! Well done Donna and all prize winners.

Reminder that the John Cooke match play round one must be completed by Sunday 26th July.

Friday 31st July is open mixed Greensomes competition and Monday 3rd there is an Open stableford competition for ladies. Booking is through BRS system.

The great scoring continued on Thursday in the first Links Open of the season. Kieran McDaid put on a mighty display with a fantastic score of 44 points to win by 3 points. Getting their names in the mix again we had Keith Shiels and Edward Lynch having to be separated by a break of tie on 41 points.

No steward's inquiry was required for the gross prize with Stewarty McGinlay going around in 73 shots. Visitor prize was taken by the ever popular Fiachra O'Flaherty on 38 points, while greenkeeper Joe McColgan showed he knows his way around the course winning the back 9 prize with 22 points.

99 members showed up for the Summer trophy on Saturday in what turned out to be tricky conditions for some. With the rough getting higher and playing from the back sticks four golfers rose to the top to win their categories.


Stewart McGinlay got his name on another prizes with 37 points in division 1. Michael Fitzpatrick took division two with 39 points. Cahir Bradley, won division 3 with 38 points and Seamus Canning rounded out the winners with 39 points to take home the division 4 prize.

On Sunday we had the Kinnegar Cup with members turning out in their numbers again in what was a very competitive field. The early bird gets the worm and in this case the best of the weather with the wind getting up in the afternoon.


Winning by 4 points with a score of 43 points we had Colum O'Neill. Rhys McDermott came in on 39 points for second place, while Michael Coyle rounded out the nett prizes with 37.


Justin MacLochlain put in a remarkable round of 3 over to win the nett prize and Donal Begley steadied himself against the wind to win the back 9 prize with 22 points.
