The North West Ladies hosted a charity open on Wednesday 26th Sept “Play In Pink Day” in aid of Breast Cancer Research . There was a great turnout of members to support this cause, and we were also delighted to welcome twenty visiting ladies from Foyle, Buncrana, City of Derry Golf Clubs to name a few.

The format of fourball Betterball produced very good scores and mother & daughter duo Lady President Margaret and daughter Roslyn McLaren had the best of the day with a super score of 45 Stableford points.

Second prize honours then went to Augusta Neff & Marie McLaughlin with 42 points, one ahead of third placed Margaret Fisher & Annmarie Begley on 41 points.

The visitors prize went to City of Derry Ladies Ciara Quigg & Ann Wallace on 39 points

The nines winners were front nine: Ann O’Neill & Josephine Kelly (Foyle) with 20 points and the back nine Marie McReynolds & Deborah Doherty (City of Derry) 20points b.o.t.

Congratulations to all the prize winners!

Fantastic turn out for Mr Mickey Bradley's Thursday society captains day yesterday. Conditions were good but scoring was tight with tricky pins throughout the course.

This did not stop John O'Brien romping home with a score of 43 three shots clear of second placed Karl Scanlon. Dudley Coyle lost out on a break of tie from Karl both on 39 points.

The Gross went to that man Brian McElhinney with a two over par 72. Daniel McAteer takes 4th spot with 38 points while a break of tie was needed to separate Joe McColgan and Laurence Hegarty in 5th and 6th.

Shaun Murphy won the Non qualifier with 39 points while George McDaid took the front 9 with 22 points and Dermot McDermott took the back with 19 points.

Prizes can be collected in the shop. Thanks to everyone who took part. €700 was raised for the Breast Cancer Unit in Letterkenny, a very worthy cause.

Don't forget the start of the new Thursday society season starts next week. See you all there.

Couldn't have asked for better conditions over the weekend with the course in particularly fantastic nick for the Miller Cup. With membership for the 2021 season up for grabs scoring was tight at the top with a four way break of tie.
