Margaret wins her second Cup this season!

On Wednesday 9th the North West Ladies played for the Lisfannan Cup, a stroke event which was the penultimate of the season and attracted a great turnout of members.

However in the final analysis and winning her second Cup this year it was as Margaret O’Hea who emerged victorious, playing of twenty one after carding a seventy five nett stroke score.

Second was Lady President Margaret McLaren playing off twenty with a seventy six nett score, and third placed spoils went to the very consistent Joanne Harkin playing of six with a seventy seven nett.

Congratulations to Sheila Reid and Lorraine McGettigan on winning the regional final of the Granard Foursomes. They now play in the All Ireland final on Oct 9th at Balbriggan Golf Club. Good luck ladies.

The last links open of 2020 took place on Thursday with another good showing from members and visitors alike. The conditions on the day made for tougher scoring.

39 points was enough to see Sean O'Kane over the finish line winning by a point from John Coll on 38. Neill Hirrell missed out on 2nd on a break tie taking 3rd with 38 points.

Gross prize goes to Brian Griffin with 76 shots recorded. Adrian McCarter from Portumna GC, Galway won the visitors prize with 35 points, good shooting on a tough day. And last but not least Terry Meenan shot 22 points on the back to win the back nine prize.
